My Twin

So in my social media class we have to make a blog, so I took some of my old stories from my mission blog because I enjoy it a lot. Here is one hope you enjoy.

During theses past couple of weeks I have been thinking a lot about my twin. His name is  Phillip Hathaway, was serving in the Chicago Mission. I am  Paul Hathaway I was serving in the Florida Tallahassee Mission, now I am in the Referral Center mission. A little bit of background for you. We are twins if you haven't already notice. We born Premature (12 weeks early).“They weighed three pounds, one ounce, and three pounds, three ounces,”( Paul and then Phillip). I always like to say that Phillip like to push me out, because I shot out, the doctor was still putting on his clothes but he caught me in time. Once I came out I had a brain aneurysm, and a lung collapse. So they rushed me to Seattle Children's hospital. Then after 1 hour and 5 minutes Phillip came out with the doctors told my parents that I have Cerebral Palsy, which is "Cerebral" refers to the brain and "Palsy" to a disorder of movement or posture. If someone has cerebral palsy it means that because of an injury to their brain (cerebral) they are not able to use some of the muscles in their body in the normal way (palsy). Children with cerebral palsy may not be able to walk, talk, eat or play in the same ways as most other children. I wasn't able to walk sit up by myself and craw around, my parents would put both my brother and I in milk crates and we would throw our toys in each other's crates. I had to go through a lot of therapy, and Phillip was for the most part always there. Then came a time when the therapist came to my mom and dad and said there a surgery that I could get. 1 out of 100 kids got this surgery, So my parents prayed and fasted for awhile and then with Heavenly Father's help they decide to go along with. So after 9 hours of surgery and then 35% of my nerves cut I was able to walk after a long time of therapy . Phillip came to the room in the hospital and would stay over and just be there. He has been through all the good times and bad times. We never leave each other. We have gone through a lot, getting to be born together, doing scouts ( getting our Eagle's Together.) our Duty to God, even turning in our mission papers and getting them the same time. New years eve. He has been there every single day. every minute and second. The longest we have been apart is a week and now, Its the hardest time for theses past 7 months have been hard without him. I know that we are doing the right thing. serving the Lord in a way, that both of us can. I just haven't appreciated him that much until now. With all the medical stuff that I am going to I will admit that I wish he was here supporting me and being by my side. I appreciate you Phillip a Lot.
